Reaching out to people through events is a key way to increase awareness of the work of streamkeepers, the challenges, and the results.
Each year, we participate in event such as The River Never Sleeps Festival, the Brant Geese Festival, Family Day at the Qualicum Beach Museum and Beach Day in Qualicum Beach.
Our displays vary, but include the “Salmon Wheel of Life”, some of our scientific measurement instruments, and our most recent one, an ocean warming demonstration.
Hands on learning is the best way to illustrate our message, and we priorise events which have a learning focus and reach young people.
